Content: This is a 2 year course leading to the Standard Grade National Certificate at Foundation, General and Credit levels. The course content consists of a series of 6 units: Athletics, Badminton, Gymnastics, Volleyball, Basketball and Fitness. The pupils receive 3 periods of PE each week one of which will be a theory period in a classroom. The three elements of the standard grade course are: * Practical Performance, which involves participation and development in the different activities. * Knowledge and Understanding, which is delivered through practical and written work. * Performance Evaluation, which involves video/class observation and analysis. While the course is mostly of a practical nature, the theoretical aspect will consist of a combination of class written work and homework. Final Assessment: 50% Practical Performance 25% Knowledge and Understanding 25% Evaluation of Performance |
